I am ironman yet again!

So I am an ironman yet again. This year was a tad bit slower due to the fact that I haven't trained much this year from May onwards but I still managed not to have to wear a glowstick! I finished with a time about 14 hours and 6 minutes. I had a long swim about 1 1/2 hours to do 3.8 km. It was brutal. I felt as if I was in a mosh pit and not in a swim. Lots of people came out with black eyes but not me I just had a slower swim time. My bike was awesome this year. I felt good anyway even though my time might not reflect it. Tail wind the first 20km or so and then headwinds the rest of the way. They were brutal and unrelentless. Smaller triathletes might not have had a fun time with the winds but I'm a bigger guy and I just pushed through it. It took me close to 7 hrs so my is slower than last year but the winds weren't a factor on the bike last year. I got up to 61km/h going down one hill. To me that is scary fast. To others it's alright. My marathon was a little slow this year because I started walking around the 15 mile mark of the race. I saw Colleen and Nate at the 21 km mark and they bosted my energy I ran up the hills as if I had fresh legs and then I hit the flat section and my brain said that's good enough and I started walking. I managed to try to do 5min run/walk and because of the aid stations (which were great by the way) I had a hard time maintaining this pace. Once I was on the final stretch I walked down southshore drive but then I saw my wife again and my son and that gave me motivation to finish running not walking. I was told that I wasn't done yet by one on the spectators as I kissed Colleen and to get going so I did. While Colleen and Nate went to get the stroller I was finishing my second Ironman Canada. It felt good to cross the line and I was happy to be done. I knew the protocol at the end of the race and I was quickly handed over to Colleen once I called her to find out where she was. It was a colder day for the race and afterwards I was glad for my warm clothes as I was shivering after the warm massage. I have a lot of respect for this race no matter how many times I do it. It's a tough course no matter what the conditions are like. I was fortunate to have two good days. There wasn't a fire, a sprinkle of rain but nothing to worry about and no snow. So at the end of the day the competitors are exhusted and so are the spectators. Thanks to everyone who helped me complete Ironman once again and to the Volunteers! Oh and especially to Colleen and Nate who spent the day supporting me.

Hey for those who care...I finished the damn race! I am Ironman! I finished Ironman Canada with a time around 13 hours and 26 minutes and there's some seconds there as well but I don't care. If you do look at the results it knows! It was a brutally hot day. The swim was long at around 3.8 km. The bike was hot. No shade anywhere on the bike. A nice balmy 30 plus degrees. I had to stop 2 times because my feet felt as if they were on fire! Once at the special needs area and another time at a rest stop. I also only peed once at this same rest stop after Yellow lake. The crowds leaving penticton on Richter's pass and Yellow lake were fricking amazing! They lined the roads leaving a small space for us cyclists. It was sooo coool almost like the Tour de France. The bike was 180 km long. That was over 6 hours for me to accomplish. I do believe I got a wee bit of chaffing. Next a brutal 42 km run to end my day and this great triathlon! Once again there was barely any shade on this course. We had a brutal headwind the whole way out. Nice to have on the way back as it kind of pushed you a little. I met my wife 1/2 way on the run at the special needs area. If she had not been there I would have had to stop to fill my hip flasks with e-load. She pushed me to get up a hill and to keep going. I love you Colleen! Thanks for kicking my butt. It really helped! I ran back to penticton a mere 25km away. I saw the city and got a 2nd wind. I ran like I had no pain. For most of the last 10 km. The last 3 km were really hard but I kept pushing and made it to the finish. If you want more details just ask me and I'll go into more but I tend to babble. Talk to you later my peoples! #665

Red Deer Marathon

On the weekend I did the Woody's World RV marathon. The results are up on the website. 4:49:20 I was 2 minutes faster than the last time. I think this was a harder course plus the heat made it challenging. The Edmonton course is flat with one downhill and one uphill. The Red Deer course was up and down and varied terrain. It's amazing the mental games one plays when you are racing. I went from I can do 4 hours to Maybe I can catch a ride in that guys pick-up within an hour. I went from not walking to trying to keep running. I went 28km before I walked and it was at a water station where I first walked. I don't know. I'm not a runner. I'm happy that I finished but I'm dissapointed that I didn't do a lot better than the last time. No one can say that running a marathon is easy. I've done 2 now and they are both different and both extremely hard to finish. What blows me away is the guy who won does ultra marathons and he's doing one next week, he used red deer as a training run.
One good thing I guess. I never lost any bottles from my belt or dropped any either. Another positive thing is most people couldn't do this race and I've done 2 of them. I think it makes me stonger as a person knowing this. Anyho I'll post some pics as I get them the website said 7-10 days and we have 14 more pictures to take on the camera before we can develop the film. Talk wit cha l8r my peeps!

So Mr. Quick is coming again to evaluate me. This is # 4 I believe. I've been evaluated so much I'm losing count. Tomorrow is hopefully the last one. Not much is new just busy with school, training and the new puppy. This weekend it's the ardrossan stage race in E-town. Next weekend I'm doing a marathon run in Red Deer. I don't know what's after that I haven't looked that far on my schedule. Might be doing a race in Manitoba so I might be able to see Mike again but he never e-mails me so I'm not sure if he's even home at that time. Let me know so I can sign up for the race man! Went to Calgary and got burned!

So we went to Red Deer on Friday night then off to Calgary on Saturday. It was the 1st time trial of the year. Nasty windy on the way out but nice tail wind on the way back. To do 10 km against the wind it took me about 25 min maybe longer. I avg 21-27 km/h and on the way back it took me 15 min I think . I averaged 45-67.5 km/h on the way back. Anyway my total time was close to 40 min. Either over or under. We were only biking for close to an hour and a half and both of us got burned. White flesh doesn't fair well in the open air with actual sun. Today I have parts of my legs, arms and face with weird burn patterns. I also got hives on my arms and legs, probably have cancer or something. I don't know. Maybe they are just heat blisters. On Sunday we were supposed to go to Clagary's race city speedway to have Colleen do her 1st crit of the year but the race was cancelled due to wind and cold. Freakin wusses. We went to do a race not bail! There was no water on the course or snow so why cancel it? Oh well we only travelled about 6 hours to do the race. Bicisport didn't even have the decency to cancel it the night before. Plus there wasn't a note or anything telling us why or even if it was cancelled. The results from the day before weren't posted and colleen couldn't get her money back cause nobody was there. Bastardos!!! Anyway at least we had one good day of racing. It was a tough 20km but it was still fun. Got to hang out with my little bro later in the day after a good meal at Luciano's. Talk to ya later my Peeps!

Well I just returned from Easter Holidays in BC. This year we went to Peachland and drove to Penticton, Summerland and Kelowna. We had really good weather compared to last year. It rained on the day we left otherwise we had pretty decent weather. Windy and cool one day but we still managed to squeeze in a hour and a bit bike ride. We rode everyday except one. The hills scare the crap out of me. Hard to get up and scary to go down. We took the pups with us. Joey is doing well to fit in with the rest of us. Since Easter he has only gone once in the house and that was yesterday. It could have been prevented. Congratulations to Rob and Allie with the new baby girl. Can't imagine Bob as a Father but I've been wrong before. At least she'll always have toys to play with! School has started again and we have about 2 months left and then we're done. On Sunday I did the St. Albert 10 miler road race(running race). I did the run in 1 hour 27 min and 19 seconds. I think I did pretty good plus it's good training for future races. Anyway, talk wit cha l8r my peeps!

So I'm sick and I left work at about 10 min before I normally do. I found out this morning that a bum still thought it was a liquor store and came in. My T/A /Secretary had her kid who's 3 there and the bum wanted to fight him. The cops were called and showed up about 1/2 hour later. The Vice Principal forced him outside and was asked by the cops if she wanted to press charges. She didn't. This is the 9th day in a row that he was picked up and put in the drunk tank. I guess he wreaked of Pee! I think he had a bottle of Rye in his hand when all of this was going on. Now when we are here by ourselves we have to lock the door. I'm always here by myself without the door locked. TTYL my peoples!

Got to take the school skiing once again. Almost didn't go. The roads were snow covered and it was still coming down. There were 3 accidents before we got onto the road. People in the office had to turn back cause the roads were bad, I guess they were going to swan hills(I don't know why). Anyway we left and when we passed High Prairie there was no snow at all. Turns out they got rain that night and melted most of the snow. The ski hill was super icey which made my beginer skiiers a little nervous. It hurts to fall onto hard icy snow. When one of my students fell she would leave a big red streak behind her from her pants. Another school from here was also there with three times the kids that we brought and about the same amount of supervisors. One of their kids came down a icey black diamond fell down flew up into the air and wrapped himself around a tree. I've never seen that before and I thought I was dreaming. I got to see this interesting event because one of my kids fell off the t-bar and was debating whether or not to climb the hill to the top. She eventally (after this incident) decided it was best to walk. I went with her and she complained the whole way up. My kids all seemed to have fun. Some were frustated because they couldn't do it very well but for the most part they did have fun. We had awesome weather again. Well that's it for skiing this year. So we have a new member of our little family. His name is Joey. Bet you couldn't guess that from the pictures. Colleen named him while we were driving in the Jeep. He needed a name and I didn't like Chauncey so it's now Joey. So far we've had him for 3 days and he's only peed once in the house and he's only pooed once in the house. He's really good at asking to go out. He gets along fairly well with Maggie. This morning they were outside chasing each other. Looked like they had fun. He's super cute and Hyper. He wants to be a maggie. He likes to copy whatever whe his doing. That's about it for now. Thanks to Mano Ubergrande for letting me know about the pup! One day you'll meet him, I promise!

So we are thinking of getting this puppy this weekend. The deciding factor will be if it has a good temperment and if it gets along with Maggie. We are bringing her to check out the new dog. He looks super cute and hyper. I think the pictures shows his hyperness with the blurring effect! We are going to be looking at him on Saturday so we should know then. Until then enjoy the pics!

Finally after months of being denied I got a chance to try out my new skiies and boots. That's right this time the trip went ahead with no problems. We had awesome weather and no one got hurt! So that's always a bonus. I am in the process of making a new batch of beer. I have two bottles of the old stuff left and a new batch under way. When cupboards fall on you where do you turn for help?

So the weirdest thing happened to my wife on the weekend. I was sleeping and awoke to the sound of shattering glass and swearing. Immediatly I knew if was the cupboards. It was the only thing we have with that much glass. They fell down when she put a couple of wine glasses away. Now she's paranoid that the other cupboards are going to fall as well. We spent the rest of the morning cleaning it up. the best way to spend family day with a pissed off wife and me who was denied sleep. I still had about 2 more hours before I was due to wake up. It took me a while to wake up and when I did it was the pm. Oh well I bought some new wine glasses. Crazy glue. A mitre saw for the baseboards and more stuff tor home repairs. I fixed the hole in the wall and put up a new towel rack. Watched some olympics ran an hour and made supper. Watched a bit more tv and went to bed, so much for family day! Talk to ya later my peeps!

No skiing for you!

So last weekend I tried to go skiing with Colleen, today we(the school) were supposed to go to a practice hill. Both times I've been denied. No skiing for you! At least that's how I feel. I'm getting really dissapointed but I'm not crushed. Supposively there is a wind warning in effect where we were going so I'm kind of happy that we are not going. Anyway I was in Jasper on the weekend with the poochy and Colleen. We didn't go skiing because Maggie started whining when we left her in the hotel. I just didn't have the heart to leave her alone all day so we went for a two hour hike instead. Maggie had a blast on this hike and so did we. It probably was shitty conditions anyway. Another V-tines day has come and gone and I still hate the card and chocolate day. I still believe these are the people who came up with this holiday! Happy B-day(belated now but I asked Gushue Boy to tell you so technically I'm not late) Sue! Hope Mike treated you like a Queen! Talk to ya later my peeps!

So yah for xmas my Mom got me a Brew making kit beer and all included. Last Saturday I started making it. This Saturday I bottled it. It's so cool watching the different stages. I got to see the yeast do it's thing, got to sample the mix. Very yeasty which is to be expected. Got to bottle it and feel the bottles getting hard. That's carbonation, get your minds out of the gutter! Now if none of the bottles explode then it should be complete by saturday. They recommend that you chill it for 2 days before you drink it. I'm not sure why but I'm listening to them. I've given up drinking so that shouldn't be too difficult. I figure that I'll give most of it to my inlaws and my parents. I'll probably only keep one or two for Colleen. I'll update you on the finished product. Later my Peeps! Doc Out!

Anyone seen a dog or two?

Ya, so I get a phone call tonight from my wife who says that her dog that her parents are watching as well as her other dog which her father adopted are missing at Wah(I'm not sure if it's spelled this way or not). Turns out the halfwits wandered away from the garage and never came back. Dumbasses have never been there before(well Rocky anyway) so they don't know where they are and may not be able to find their way home. I don't know where this place is so I couldn't search for them. Anyho nobody except for Colleen's Mom would even attempt to try to find the lost dogs. They got to Legal and had to turn around because of the icy roads. Colleen is coming back tomorrow to look for them. I have to rush fixing my parents baseboards just to go looking for missing dogs. If you find a lab cross that answers to Rocky call the number on the tag. If you find a white lab something cross that answers to Arrow call the number on the tag. Watch out cause the white dog is mean, the golden dog however watch your crotch, he'll try and sniff it! Doc out!

Hope everyone got what they wanted for xmas! I got a satellite radio so now I have sirius everywhere I go even at home. It's so nice because all we get at home for radio is a local country station and that's it. I don't like the country music. Expect for a few bands like Hank Williams 3 and assjack, johnny cash...I got a Mr. Beer from my parents so tomorrow or the next day I get to make my own brew. In two weeks when I'm back in school I can drink it all Whoo hooo! Just kidding. I bought myself a bass guitar so now I can teach myself how to be like Blair. Should be fun. It's about a year to date that I flipped the Jeep so I'm a little afraid of heading back on the road home. The road last night was sheer ice. I don't know what the highway that I take is like. I'm supposed to head home today but I might wait until tomorrow. It depends on how much work I can get done for my Mom. My little bro came home for Xmas with his two kids and now Colleen is cured of the I want kids thing. She came to Leduc for a total of 2 days and she never came back. We were here for a week. Good times were had by all at the Malcolm and Baldwin households. New years Eve was a quiet one but that was perfect. Colleen signed us up for a 5km run yesterday so it was good that we didn't drink lots. Happy New Year everyone and Have a great year! Doc out!

So Happy Belated Turkey Day to All! Hope everyone had their fill of the dead birds! I've eaten 4 myself. 2 at work 1 at my parents house and 1 at Colleen's house. I'm so turkeyed out. I even got a turkey hangover on Monday night. On Monday I sold my bike after procrastinanting all summer. Got what I want for it but I didn't get it in time to pick up Colleen's new bike. We might have to make a E-town run this weekend just to pick up the bike. Not much is new. I'm training for an Ironman race in Penticton this August. I haven't quaified to do the race yet but I'm training which is more than I did before. I'm looking forward to the half this year. Talk to ya later my people's!

So I'm back at school, almost a week into it now. At least with the kiddies. We've been back now for 2 weeks but only 1 with the tikes. Anyho they have me doing 3 peoples jobs this year and I'm only on a probationary contract. It's crappy but you do what you gotta do. I'm only teaching Outreach this year so I'm not a real teacher but a babysitter/marker/guidance counsellor/gym teacher/Science, Math, English and Social teacher etc. I've been married now for 3 weeks and so far it's going really good! Hey Bob I hope your move goes good if you read this. I'd help you move but the price of gas is keeping me here for another couple of weeks at least. To fill the Jeep up it's almost $100 for a tank of gas. That's too much. I must flee now. TTYL my peoples! Doc out!

Well, School starts tomorrow and my holidays have come to an end. I always hate the first day back but this year more than ever. Whose the genius that thought Friday would be a good day to come back. stupid carpet guys

So yeah the carpet guys have come and gone and one of the bastards ate all of my werthers! He never asked to have one he just ate the whole fricken bag. I never even had one and it was a family sized bag. Bastard! Anyway, they did a really shitty job. I do not recommend Jordan's Carpet in Edmonton to get your carpet installed. One of the guys burnt the carpet and I ended up getting burnt when I picked up the cover of the light. They fixed one burn but left the other. Brand new carpet with a patch. My mom is going to go nuts on them when she gets back from Florida. I took pics. They left the house trashed. They took my last can of coke and then used the box as a garbage and left it behind. The stairs looks like a kid did them, you can see the wood from the stairs on some of them. The lamininate is chipped and some isn't even. Hell I could've done the laminate if you wanted it crooked. The stairs was supposed to have had all the carpet removed but he started and didn't finish. They didn't silicone the piece at the top of the stairs either. Anyway that's enough ranting about them. Tomorrow I have to wait for movers, go ring and suit shopping. Pick up the poochy and fix the hot tub. I think that's everything. Anyway I'm outy. TTYL, Doc out my brothahs and sistahs!

Dogs and carpet

Well I hurried this morning to get ready for the carpet guys. I expected 5 or 6 but only 2 showed up. I soon found out that the carpet I asked my Mom if I should remove needed to be removed....by me not them. I spent almost all day removing carpet and underlay and Linolium. I also had to remove the railing leading to the basement. It sucks that I have to do other people's jobs but that is how life goes I guess. Took the crazy dog to the kennel and life here is much quieter without her here. I have to put up with the carpet guys for 1 more day and then the movers come the next day. When will I get some quiet time? Well after the movers leave the crazy dog comes back so I guess never. Anyway such is the life of me. Tomorrow I'm going to try to fix the hot tub. TTYL my peoples. For those of you who don't know Colleen and Myself will be getting married in Jasper on August 11th which is a thursday at 2pm. If you want to send me presents blog me and I'll give you my new address. I'm a present whore. But really who isn't? Anyway I'm currently bored and house sitting for the parental units again. They left for Florida about an hour ago for a week. While they are gone I get to take one dog to the kennels cause I can't control her around carpet guys. My mom is getting laminate and carpet installed while I'm here. I get to clean the house and water a bunch of plants. Fix and fill the Hot tub, and reorganize the house. Oh yeah and get rid of a lot of crap in storage. If anyone wants or needs a bunch of funiture I believe my Mom wants to get rid of a tonne of furniture. All you have to do is come to Leduc and pick it up. Let me know. I just finished building a deck up north and I finished my half ironman in not the fastest time but since I didn't train that much and I didn't ride my bike that much I guess I did alright. It was a hot day but fullfilling. The tour is over and Lance Won 7 straight and now he's retired. Lucky bum! That's about all for now. I promise I'll add more later but I must run for now. So welcome to another holiday created by the card and chocolate industry. Another day to steal money from the working class and make us fat. Enjoy the cards and flowers and the depression that this day gives to people who do not have a significant other. So far today I heard 2 people complaining. So I'm home now and I have a bit of a chance to actually tell you what happened. I was driving to St. Albert to pick up Colleen and I had a nice cup of Timmy's coffee in my hand. I was in the middle of taking a sip and next thing I know I'm hitting black ice. I loose control of the wheels and I held on to the coffee and it's now hitting me in my face and I feel like I'm being thrown around in a cloud of white(assuming it's snow coming through my broken windshield). I am now hanging upside down in the jeep by my seatbelt. I dropped my coffee because it's all over me anyway. I'm now trying to figure out how to get down. All the while I'm thinking shit Colleen is going to kill me and I wonder how long this is going to take to get fixed? What's open on a Sunday after new years? Also my parents are going to kill me. They told me to drive safe and here I am upside down off the hiway. Next thing I hear is a guy at my passenger window who's asking me if I'm ok. I told him I'm ok I just don't know how to get down. He couldn't open the passengers side because it's messed up also locked but he didn't know that. He opened my door or maybe I did and I held onto the roof and roll bar while he undid the belt. I climbed out of the Jeep and I felt ok I went back in the jeep looking for my gloves and touque. Couldn't find my hat but I found both gloves. It's -38C outside so I needed them to keep warm. I guess by going in and looking for them I cut my hand a little. The cuts are only tiny but they bled a lot and looked impressive after the abulance people wrapped them. I was interviewed by the paramedics and then the RCMP. The firefighters joked around with me and said I had to do this when it was -38. Anyway I called Colleen and she came and picked me up it was a ugly looking accident. I've never seen a jeep look that bad before. I was pretty shaken up and was in a state of shock for most of the day. That's about it. Or at least I'm tired of typing. I'm going for a hot chocolate. TTYL, my peoples. So ya the new year has begun and so far it has sucked royally. Remember the jeep that I just got back in october. Well it is sitting in Devon right now waiting to hear if it's been written off or not. I managed to hit black ice with it and then end up on my roof with it. The passenger side is completely screwed but the drivers side is ok. The hood is bent and so are the fenders. The hard top needs replacing and I don't know what else. I have to run now will update later. And for anyone who cares I'm still alive and no broken bones. L8r my people! Doc:-)>

So I made it to Christmas. I've got 2 weeks of relaxing and visiting with friends and relatives. Oh and skiing/snowboarding! Almost went to winterval but a damn cat ruined that just kidding Alex. Anyway just been busy with the whole school thing volleyball finished and basketball began. Not much is new in my life, just school. Colleen got the maternity position at my school so she is now teaching in a real school. I'm not sure if she likes the change. Have a Merry Christmas to everyone. TTYL, Doc:-)>

So I finally got those pics put up. It only took what 2 weeks and not 1 like I said. Whatever. Anyho, Ministry lived up to what I expected. They kicked ass, mostly they played songs from the new album houses of the mole or whatever. Every song has a w in the title. I almost caught a drumstick. My life with the thrill kill kult sucked, I mean the guy can't sing and he butchered his own songs so badly if it wasn't for the fat backup singer singing days of swine and roses I wouldn't have recognized my favorite song from those guys. "I live for drugs, it's great." Hanzel and Gretyl. If you have the chance check these guys and gurls out! The lead singer looka lika woman but singa lika man! Most of the songs are sung in german so that's just plain cool! I start my cross coutry running club apres school today so we'll see how many people show up for a run today. So as ya'll know, I've recently moved to Slave Lake. The Jeep died so it's now replaced by a 2004 Jeep tj sport. It's a silver beast with tinted windows. It's soooo sweet! Next week if I have time I'll put a pic of it on here. I've been comuting back and forth to Wetaskiwin since I've gotten the job every weekend and I don't see the end to that just yet. Ministry is coming to e-town on Oct 1 and on the 9th is KMFDM? I don't get it why don't they tour together. I've got tixs to Ministry but not yet to KMFDM. I'm working on that. So I got the place. I leave for Slave Lake tomorrow. I'm still house sitting for my parents so I'm stuck in Leduc until tomorrow. This weekend I get to go home and pack some clothes for the week. I got the power hooked up today. All I need to do now is get my postal code and order a phone. Anyway I must flee. I might take a drive to the airport to drop off Mom and Dad's car. Hey I finally got a job! I'm no longer a bum. I'm moving to Slave Lake, AB. I got a job at a catholic school teaching Physical Education to grades 3-12. I leave for hell this Thursday and I start work on Friday. I might have an apartment up there as well I find out about that on Tuesday. I'm still house sitting and dog watching up until I leave. The weather sucks here in Leduc. I want to go home! I miss my house and my bed! Goodnight peoples! Did I mention that I'm teaching at a real school now! Oh I guess I did. Later!

Back from Penticton

Man I did not want to come back to Alberta. Wine, beaches, biking with actual big hills, fresh fuit from the trees and beautiful weather. Nothing beats that. So my bike is acting up. On Sunday I was cruising down hills at stupid speeds of around 61km/hr and then the next day my bike starts wobbling at around 35-40km/hr. The first time it happens we just started out for a pleasurable ride to get ice cream and then come back to the beach. The 1st hill of the day which you have to go down from the B & B we were staying at and I almost died. I thought it was my braking so I adjusted my front wheel and blammed the wind a bit. Then it happened again coming back from getting the ice cream. This time I realized I could've died so this time I'm shaking from fear. I still have at least 3 more hills I have to go down. Colleen I don't think believed me but she followed me down. Sure enought after I took my breaks off the bike it did it again and it freaked out not only myself but also Colleen. We took it super easy the rest of the ride and I brought my bike to the bike barn to get it fixed. They needed to hold it hostage for a couple of days so I decided to get it fixed in Edmonton by Guri at Pedalhead. I'm not sure if it's fixed but it's supposed to be ready on Monday. Turns out it was the headset, but I'm still not too sure. Anyway I've never been to peach fest and we missed most of the events but I would go again to check it out. Went in search of fudge. Colleen saw a topless woman on one of the beaches. Where the hell was I looking when this happened. Oh well, got to float down the channel. It only took 2 hours but it took us 1hr and a half to walk there. Fell asleep a couple of times due to the heat and the sun. Went to the beach a lot and had a couple of picnics. We did a lot more than just this but I hate babbling. Thanks for the post card and the card Mike. Muchos Gracias for the money order. I used it for food and gas and to check out the movie Princess Diaries 2. Which is super cheesy but just as good as the 1st one. If you hate pedicitable sappy romantic movies than don't go see this one but if you do check it out. That's all for now. Well, tomorrow I'm off to panorama. Colleen and I are going to do a little siteseeing on bikes and then it's a 7 hr drive to Penticton! It's the we don't have any money but we're going anyway trip to Penticton! It's a well needed break for Colleen as she's done nothing but race, support me in my racing and training all summer. It's time to leave home, pick some peaches and cherries or whatever else is growing this time of year down there and relax. Also to ride bikes up some monster climbs to help her with her final races. Well the weekend was screwed up if you ask me. I did my last Time Trial of the year. But before I start the damn race a stupid comissaire(race official) starts walking across the road so I go left to go around him but then he stops and then goes right so I start going left then he stops and I just held my line thinking he'd move but no. Mister comissaire is stupid and doesn't budge and I'm too close now to go left or right or to stop so I yell "I'm hitting you!" and Bam! I hit the guy & breaks his helmet (he had it on his back)in the process and I hit the pavement(my bike hit too). I am now about 5 min from the start of my race and my thumb is bleeding, my arm and leg are sore but there was no apparent wound. I'm shaking cause I've never hit anyone on a bike before and my bike is a wee bit screwed up. Colleen tries to fix my chain but she couldn't and now she's covered in grease. Jeff fixes my bike unaware that I've destroyed his helmet. Maybe I appologized but I'm not entirely sure. Anyway the race happens and I finish with a time of around 1 hour and 12 min for a 40 Km time trial. Not bad I guess. Colleen finished in third for the women. Way to go Colleen! Next day Colleen does a Crit. Once again a top 3 finish she actually won the race! 1st place overall! Great Job Colleen!!!! I'm proud of you!

Tonight I'm off to my parental units place to finish working on the fence. Tomorrow I should be doing my last Time Trial of the year out in Devon. On Sunday I should be somewhere around Whyte Ave watching Colleen do a bike race and taking some pitcures and cheering her on. I really didn't want to do this race. Just ask Colleen if you don't believe me. It was all her idea, she believed that I could do an olympic distance(1.5 km swim, 40km bike, 10 km run)triathlon 1 week after a half and personally I didn't think I could recover enough to pull it off. Well I was wrong. I went out dispite me being a little pissy about it and did it in a time of 2 hrs 41 min and 5 secs.I had a blast on the bike going up and down hills I never ride on. Biking Groat was fun and doing emily murphy hill 4 times well that now just screams fun. It was a good day. Thanks a lot for talking me into doing it Colleen! I'll now try and post some pics! "I hurt myself today to see if I'm still real, I focus on the pain the only thing that's real." Well I finished another half ironman. I beat last year's time by 10 minutes. I had a really good swim and a fast bike. I'm not sure about the run but the results should be up soon so I will know then. This year it took me 5:47:23 to do the race. Yup that's right nearly 6 hrs of non stop excercise. A 2km swim a 90km bike and a 21km run all in one day. To know the feeling of finishing one you just have to try it. I'll try to put up some pics from the race but I'm not sure if I can do it so lets see.

So yeah another day and the government is still screwed up so nothing special or new there. Across the street though the boat that has been parked there for a month now finally spit out a victim. A woman I would say in her early forties with dyed blond hair emerged with sunglasses on. Weird. I wonder if she's living in there or in the townhouse next to it? Woke up early with a flashing alarm clock next to my head. Yep today was the day I had to get up at 6:30 to go into edmonton to make it for an 8:00am apointment for 2 fillings. I woke up shortly after 7. Turns out the place got so hot the power went off or at least that's what I'm telling people. I made it shortly after 8 by 12 minutes. Not bad time, only saw one cop and for once they didn't pull my ass over. Got the fillings and then I decided to go for almost an hour run mostly though suburbs and park trails. A little on the sidewalk on the trail action. Drove back to the big W and sat down to watch 50 1st dates with adam sandler. It's a sad/funny/predictable movie and if you like cheese then this one is for you! Oh big news the Cable Guy showed up and now I have cable so I can watch the Tour de France! Yippee for me!

Anyway I have practice for my new band, the hornets at around 9pm. Help I still don't play bass! Can someone teach me in a couple of minutes. Had Burger king for supper. The perks of driving your dad to go vote. Free dinner! yeah me! I've been listening to the vote since 6pm. I'm so sick of it. Just shoot them all and lets pick new people or dogs! Holy it's a hot one. Who needs a sauna I have a house that feels like one. I just finished reading other people's bolgs so I figured I'm going to babble along with the rest of them. Woke up this morning wandered over to A & W and had their breaky. Pretty good stuff, not too expensive either. Colleen paid since I'm unemployed and don't get my final paychecks until wed. Ah...I don't mind waking up on a monday then going back to sleep and avoiding all people. I hate teaching the little bastards anyway. Done again for another year and quite possibly forever unless I get another teaching job! I want to go to the water slides but I also have to clean up my place and apply for jobs. Anyone know how to get EI? I don't know where to go or even how to appy. Oh well I better find out soon. Went to my year end staff party on friday and the bastards gave me a card and a watch which was engraved. Then the principal had the balls to ask me for a speech. I wanted to say thanks for the watch and stabbing me in the back patricia. Thanks for screwing up my life! Thanks for lying to my face and hiring someone because another principal asked you to do a favor for them. Now all I have left to remember the school is a $150 watch and hate! Oh well maybe in time I'll come to accept my fate.
